The COVID-19 pandemic has presented unprecedented challenges to the national economy. Thanks to the timely appropriate policies by the Government towards “co-living with covid-19” strategy and great effort for the impressive vaccination coverage which facilitated factories to recover production, hence the foreign trade becomes more bustling. This vessel call m/v MSC VANDYA with the record of cargo handling volume at CMIT is considered as “sweet fruit” and the most obvious illustration for results of such great effort of the Government.
Vessels with the largest tonnage up to 214,121 DWT calling CMIT and the volume of each call increasing to a record level like M/v MSC VANDYA are robust growth trend in Cai Mep. “Deep-water terminals like CMIT and shipping lines highly appreciate the strategic vision and concentrated efforts of the Government, the Ministry of Transport in investment to upgrade the maritime infrastructure, typically Cai Mep channel is expected to be dredged to min 15.5m in Q4 this year. This will create greater conditions for such largest vessels currently calling Cai Mep to transport more Vietnam export cargo in near future”, said by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, CMIT General Director.
